Meet The Artist

Taylor Rae Cole (they/them) is a Philly based, mixed media artist specializing in abstract acrylics and illustrative watercolors. With over 15 years of experience working with both watercolor and acrylic paints, Taylor has developed a unique style that blends traditional and experimental techniques. They earned their BA in Fine Arts from Albright College, and began teaching art workshops in 2019.

 

Taylor's portfolio features a diverse range of artwork, from colorful abstract paintings to detailed illustrations. Among the various styles they've dabbled in over the years, one stands out as distinctly their own. Taylor's ongoing series of "String Paintings" explore themes of anxiety, trauma and healing -- abstractly expressed by destroying, repairing, layering and patching their canvases in thought provoking ways. Hand-stitched threadwork weaves webs within the negative space, invoking elements of tension and fragility both literally and metaphorically.
